RE: I Hate Religion But I Love Jesus

Great response to Jefferson Bethke’s explosive YouTube video which attempts to detail why Christianity is different from religion, to no avail.

Personally, I find Bethke’s video contemptible because it only promotes the exploitation of the disparity between definitions of “religion” in order to slip away from any criticism made towards Christianity. Usually, this goes something like, “I agree with everything you said, but Christianity is not a religion.” This is like saying, “I agree with everything you said, but Coca Cola is not a soda.”

Well, to most people it is. Sure, Coca Cola purists are free to their own definition of “soda”, but for them to conflate their definition of “soda” with others’ is aloof and counterproductive. And Jefferson Bethke does much to promote such dishonesty.

This video is a response in rhyme. Pretty interesting…

i like how this person does not reveal his face as opposed to bethke who used his hand gestures really well to promote his point of view. because if you listen to bethke without watching the video, you start to hear some of the problems with his arguments.
